UPDATE 05/30/2020

SMOTGO Users, I think we have to consider SMOTGO done. I've been holding out hope that someone would figure out what was going on, and get it fixed. Unfortuantely I have seen no signs of that happening yet. Instead, I keep getting more and more reports of malfunctioning sites, and strange computer behavior.

Last weekend I was unable to recover my mom's Google password. Yesterday I was unable to reset my billing account password at my daughter's college.

This past week an article was released that revealed a lot of issues with the programming language C & C++. https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2020/05/29/google-chrome-critical-security-vulnerability-warning-firefox-update-chrome-browser/#26152aeb1418
This is the language that is used to create most browsers, and Windows. I don't know if this has anything to do with what is going on, but I'm continually on the look out for the possible cause of all these issues.

As you can imagine, I have put a lot of work into SMOTGO, and it has been an important tool in our business, I'm sure you can imgine what a loss this is for me, and my company, but unfortuantely it is really out of my control at this time. At some point we all need a difinitive answer so we can figure out out next steps. I don't want any of you hanging onto false hopes. So I set this weekend as a deadline for myself to make a decision. We are starting with another companies system on Monday, because like all of you, we have to have a system to run the shop. I have to assume that SMOTGO is done, so we can move forward. I do plan to keep what is working now up and running as long as possible so we can all access our Customers and History. But do keep in mind it is running on a PC in my basement, and that whatever is going on, could create more problems.

If you want a copy of your data, just email me at sdfolley@gmail.com. However, once your data has been exported, it will no longer be available in the smotgo system. It will also take me some time to do each users data, so it make take several weeks to complete.

UPDATE 05/21/2020

SMOTGO Users. I’m sure the last few days have been stressful. I know it has been for us. Here is the situation. There is something not working correctly with the newer versions of Microsoft’s operating systems, I don’t know if it is a bug, a yet to be discovered virus, or something else, that appears to be affecting them. I tried 5-6 different computers with Microsoft server, including an Azure VPS. The good news, is that it appears that I was able to recover most if not all of the data, and I have got the system operational on a Windows 7 computer at my house. However, as you can imagine a Windows 7 Computer is not going to work well as a server. It also has a number of other limitations.

So here is where we are at. I have a limited version running here hist.smotgo.com It is unable to print any custom reports, like invoice, purchase orders, etc. It is unable to send any emails, and you may run into some other limitations.

The main purpose for this to give you something to use while you look for other shopmanager software options, and to continue to access your previous history.

If you would like a backup of your data, that could be imported into another program if they offer that service, just email me at sdfolley@gmail.com

You can also email me there with any other questions.
